The Clinical Research Technician (CRT) is responsible for the ensuring that the safety, rights and well-being of all participants in clinical studies performed at BKCA is protected at all times. This position offers a PRN schedule and work is scheduled on an as needed basis.  

Monitors activities of the participants during the course of their stay during clinical studies for their safety as well as the safety of staff.

Recordkeeping: Accurately records critical data including but not limited to:  Meals, Adverse Events, Vital signs, and Blood Draws.

Scheduling: Ensure study protocols are adhered to and study events are on time, inform and gather participants for scheduled events in a timely, professional and respectful manner. Processing: Ensure proper protocols are followed and perform processing of samples, if delegated.

This position is PRN and offers flexible hours.

Essential job functions:

 Ability to read and understand and explain study protocols, time and events, study restrictions and expectations of sponsor.

  • Physically check participants in and out and monitor their behavior for study compliance, safety, adverse events and concerns.
  • Perform essential trial duties such as recording meal times, performing vitals and recording results.
  • Record adverse events as defined by study protocols.
  • Ability to communicate to participants, lining up participants for scheduled events as trained by the Investigator and listed on the Delegation of Authority Form
  • QC raw data to ensure accuracy.
  • Help to supervise events to ensure events are done on time and in accordance with SOPs and Protocols.


Minimum requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent

Highest level of attention to detail.

Ability to work alone and as a member of a team.

Ability to perform math functions relating to height, weight, measuring of volume.

Ability to communicate effectively and legibly in written form.

Ability to communicate effectively and respectfully to individuals and groups.    Flexible and open attitude with analytical thinking ability. Flexibility of scheduling required.

Ability to contribute to a positive work environment, and to positively promote the organization within the community and industry.
